
Damian Welka - guitarist and composer. Born on January 26th - the same day and month as guitar virtuoso Eddie Van Halen. He was an instructor at the Music Store Jazz and Entertainment Music School in Poznań and collaborated with the Media Play Sound Realization Studio. A pharmacy technician and a Master degree in Humanities, cultural expert, a graduate of the University of Humanities and Journalism in Poznań. Fascinated in culture of ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, tribal culture of Africa, as well as the wisdom and spirituality of the East. Although he doesn't come from a family with musical roots, but from an early age he showed great interest in music and his fascination in 80's rock began from the Europe band's album "The Final Countown". At the age of 13, he began his first classical guitar lessons. Then he appeared by many bands, including Breathe Of Souls, Znamię, Fame, supporting Dżem, Closterkeller, Elektryczne Gitary, Perfect, Hey, Ewa Farna, Turbo, Quo Vadis, Kamil Bednarek. Participant of the project promoting guitar instrumental music: "G3 - Poznan Electric Guitar Massacre" with M. Pietrasiak and R. Benkel. He also accompanied at concerts the participant of the "Battle for voices" program. Then he focused on playing with his band Mental Melody, with whom he recorded in 2015 the EP album - "Too much to lose" and the music video for the title track. In 2018 was released his first solo album "Silent & wind", containing 11 original, instrumental compositions. The album was recorded together with the percussion legend Zbigniew Lewandowski. Fabian Maćkowiak and Pancho Tomaselli played the bass guitar. Guest appearances on the album were: Wojciech Hoffmann (Turbo), Łukasz Kulczak (Lombard) and Mirosław Szymankiewicz. The album was promoted with 2 music videos: "Speed Demon" and "She's like a dream". Damian is currently working at the Ragtime Music Salon in Wrocław, where he deals with professional advice and guitar service and also gives guitar lessons. He likes to partcipate in new projects. Damian is guest at the concerts with Bartosz Fogt Acoustic Duo. He is working also at his second solo album.
